Nations Beware, Sacrificing Sovereignty to provide Security is the highway to losing both

Sacrificing Sovereignty never provides security

As a child we had this concept and understanding that the devil is an ugly hideous beast, a scary monster, with a terrifying horrifying look, but we matured and read the Bible more carefully, we came to realize that the devil is actually the most beautiful Archangel, with a shining light, he is called Lucifer, (The bringer of light), and he is always disguised as a good kind Angel, he never declares he is evil and wicked, but pushed forward his evil conspiracies through deception and hypocrisy, lies, delusions and misconceptions 

Lessons learned from Lebanon

In Lebanon, since childhood, both as an Armenian and a Lebanese, my fine school injected the concept of freedom inside my sentiment, since childhood I was committed to principle and most basic idea that the most sacred value to be cherished, defended and  to seek is independence, and sovereignty, the cornerstone and core of patriotism was and still is that no patriot should ever compromise on the sacred right and principle of independence, and to compromise and even subject the idea of the absolute necessity to discussion is itself nothing short than moral, patriotic and national treason, in fact the father and embodiment of treason

This was the case for both Lebanon and Armenia, and I declare, proud and outspoken, loud and clear, without hesitation and maneuvers, that I consider both Lebanon and Armenia my fatherlands
Unfortunately for small countries and nations, they are often victims of misconceptions, delusions, theories and ideas of the “wise and realistic, pragmatic and practical” “Political analysts”, the “guiding intellectual” who actually mislead, misguide and cast doubt upon the fine children of a nation through dis-concepts, wrong concepts, falsifications, diversions and distortions, through intentional cunning inaccurate descriptions of situations.

In the year 1990, the Syrian Army occupied what was left of the Free Lebanese areas, Lebanon moved to the era of downfall, the Lebanese cause received such a deep crucial blow, Lebanon lost its final and last degree of sovereignty and independence, the Syrian Army occupied the presidential palace, the ministry of defense, the last brigades of the Lebanese Army surrendered, to the political authority subject to Syria
All was lost

I want to share my experience in Lebanon; I try to provide my experience, my own experience, I am sure I am not the first one who experienced this and neither Lebanon and Lebanese were the first to experience this wicked conspiracy and strategies, nations for centuries witnessed such conspiracies throughout history, “intellectuals” who tried to represent (misrepresent) Occupying forces as otherwise, as friendly, as a necessity, as a force of brotherhood, and accused patriotic alive forces who pointed out occupations as unwise extreme hostile deluded power

This was the case in Lebanon, as Syrian occupation took control, it released a huge number of politicians recruited to convince Lebanese that the Syrian army is not an occupying force; it is a brotherly force, a friendly army of a sister country, the word “Sister Syria” was used intensively with fake passion, various ideas were pushed forward,

“The only real occupation of Lebanon is in fact Israel, and since Israel is the only enemy, and since the Syrian army is of another Arabic country, and since Syria is the close neighbor and elder sister of Lebanon, we should never consider the Syrian army an occupying force, doing so is a favor to Israel”,

“Lebanon is weak and needs protection, Israel army intends to occupy us,  still our water, it is an imperialist country, the only way we can protect ourselves if that we stick to a tight alliance with Syria, we must be wise and practical, realistic, it is unwise now to aim at total sovereignty, Syria and it’s army protects Lebanon, it is a significant force, the Syrian Army, the only way we can defend ourselves and protect our security is through tight alliance with Syria, we should not be intolerant of the Syrian army presence”

“We need the Syrian Army to help us be liberated from Israel”

“Lebanon is weak, our economy is weak, and we need the Syrian depth, to be able to stand to Israel”

This article does not question that the Israeli army was hostile to Lebanon and occupied it, Israel occupied Lebanon indeed for years, it was always hostile, it waged destructive hostile wars on Lebanon, 1996 and 2006 were disastrous, but it discusses the scenario where some “Lebanese wise ones” tried to convince us that since Israel is an enemy of Lebanon and occupies it, we must tolerate and stand the Syrian Army presence and the Iron grip it placed upon Lebanon

In the year 2000 the Israeli occupation left Lebanon, and those “wise ones” kept arguing the necessity of Syrian army’s presence in Lebanon, on basis that the Syrian army is a collateral and guarantee that protects Lebanon against Israeli attacks
With this strategy, these politicians managed to misguide and fool a lot of people that after the Syrian army occupied Lebanon, in 1990, war has stopped, and that the Syrian presence is not an occupation but actually a force that provides and ensures stability, and that Lebanese should forget about independence and sovereignty, sacrifice it, in return for such “Benefits”
But sacrificing sovereignty and independence is never the answer and the proper way to secure and provide security and stability; it only provides a temporary stability, it only provides a temporary truce, so as to speak
In the year 1996, Israel launched a brutal hostility on Lebanon, it called it “Grapes or rage”, and the Syrian Army never interfered, so actually we had lost both our sovereignty and security
During the Syrian occupation of Lebanon, the Syrian army was supposed to help strengthen the Lebanese Army, it kept it weak and poorly mobilized, instead a political party, Hizbullah, kept mobilizing
 and receiving arms and weapons, in the year 2005 the Lebanese Cedar revolution forces the Syrian occupation to withdraw from Lebanon, now the same pro-Syrian advocates launched another campaign, Lebanese Army does not need to take full control, it is poorly mobilized, we should entrust Hizbullah with this task and duty, in the year 2006, Israel launched another devastating war that cost Lebanon Billions of Dollars

Lesson to be learned inside the great Republic of Armenia
I arrived to Armenia and was soon subject to a similar misconception, delusion, misguide, falsification, it seems to me that the Russian influence and grip upon the republic seems very tight, I always wonder why the external policy of Armenia is so hard to understand, 

-Russia is supposed to be our ally, yet it mobilizes our main enemy, Azerbaijan, with the most advanced weapons, when some try to point, Politicians in Armenia rush to Moscow’s defense, they say that this is natural, because every country seeks and acts upon its interests, but yet when other Armenians suggest that we take policies that favors Armenia’s interests, those Pro-Russian theorists argue that: “ NO, we have a close ally, the Kremlin, we must always coordinate and take into account our allies considerations”
-Clearly Russia has not proved, demonstrated, stated, not even pretended or declared that it sees Armenia as an ally and it shall act as such, thus it is clear that from the part of the Kremlin, obviously there is no alignment of positioning based on a consideration of alliance with Armenia, in return a lot of Armenia politicians warn that, “should we seek another allies, we will lose the trust of Moscow”………

-Today, there are calls for unifications, from the part of Artsakh, some suggest that with Artsakh becoming part of Russia, it secures the safeguard, safety and security of Artsakh Armenian population
-On the Part of Armenia, we hear rumors that there is a plan of a union, a confederation between several countries, and Armenia among them, and so far I for one did not hear assuring official statements from the part of the Republic of Armenia that should comfort me that there is no such orientation and intention, to relief me from my worries
I am not against Russian Armenian alliance of friendship, I don’t think there is any force inside Armenia who suffers a prejudice against Russia, this is yet another distortion and claim that is not based on any logical realistic factors, whenever Armenian National (National does not stand for Anti Anything, but Pro Armenian, regarding a national as a racist or extremist is in fact a claim of an orientation deprived from national commitments, a vacuum of national pride and identity) points out that we are on the dangerous path of basing our calculations on a supposedly ally that does not justify itself as a beneficial productive useful reliable ally that we can depend upon danger, when just ideas are accused, declared and labeled as extreme ultra-nationalists, there is a huge case of national and moral crisis
Nations beware, sacrificing your sovereignty and independence to provide security is the approach of the naive, those who do that sooner or later lose both their sovereignty and security and jeopardize their destiny, because by doing so they position themselves in a situation which allows the force who deprived a nation of its control over its national decision to use these nations as bargain and compromise

May the Lord safeguard, protect and bless the great nations and republics of Lebanon and Armenia and the entire nations of Mother Earth
